On being 21

21. Twenty-one. a two and an one.

It sounds so much worse than it is.

The weeks leading up to my birthday were very different. different in the sense that I kept having these silly flashbacks of my childhood and all the fun times I had. like everything was suddenly going to change when the clock strikes 12:00.

Nothing changed. Yes, life gradually changes and at 21.

We think we're all supposed to be grown up and have it all figured out and blah blah.

Honestly, I have NOTHING figured out. I can't budget, I don't know how I have to pay my medical aid one day, I can't decide when I need to go to the dentist or cut my hair. I'm still too shy to talk to the receptionist on the other side of the phone when I call the Docters office.

I aint got SHIT figured out. But I still have time to learn these things, there's no need to do it all once. life happens when it happens.

Calm down. It'll all go the way it has to go.

xx
